I am an animator and my friend is a sound designer. The funny thing is, we’ve BOTH been in this exact position many times before.
Take some solace in knowing it’s not just you Graphic Designers who have to put up with dickhead clients!

@madcatblue oh please… less of the naff digs… I stated my/our opinion and position and gave reasons, professional reasons on how I avoid twats and time wasters, a personal stance that I don’t expect to get shot at, fine you disagree, I respect that. Experian and similar checks have saved us a great deal of trouble. Yes it’s amusing and humour aside but if you work in the industry and have a backbone you can tell arsey clients that take the piss to F off.

Absolutely spot on for SOOO many different businesses. I am an electronics tech with my own biz and I constantly get people trying to diagnose their stuff so they can “do it themselves”. Then they get really pissed when I tell them it’s $35 for the estimate. They usually come back with “Why? you didn’t fix anything.” Morons all…
I can’t stop laughing… This is way too close to the truth for comfort.
I remember this conversation as an article of a disgruntled graphic designer with a client who has no idea what the business is like. I wish you included that and the link in this video. Also, this is so real and accurate. There are stupid low ballers and cheapskates out there who exploit graphic designers.
